| Membership is open to all individuals, regardless of lineage, who support our mission and are committed to the practice and teaching of Reiki. Practitioners who apply for membership must have received the necessary Reiju (known as an attunement here in the West) and knowledge of Reiki by a legitimate Reiki Master, be able to trace their lineage to Usui Sensei, and agree to abide by the Code of Ethics & Standards of Professional Practice as laid out by the Institute. We further encourage all members to incorporate Gokai (five spiritual precepts) in to their daily lives, and practice Tenohira (palm healing) on a daily basis, as we believe self-treatment is the mainstay of our personal relationship to the Reiki energy. Please take your time in reading over all the material contained on this site, as this will help you better understand the Institute and whether or not it can support you on your Reiki journey.
